The Madness

So, I told you that I had started decorating for Christmas. What I didn't tell you is that I haven't really decorated much of anything yet. I've only accomplished creating a full-fledged mess.

Damn, I wish I had a digital camera so that I could SHOW all of you the mess

The tree is done. When I went to plug in the monstrous wreath, I realized that it and the matching garland are strung with colored lights. I am a white lights girl. PERIOD. The colored ones must go! So, I unstring the garland and restring it with white lights. No problem. I move on to the wreath....uh, yeah, problems.

Whoever made that damned thing was stupid. It doesn't have any logical pattern for where they are weaved throughout this 5-ft diameter monstrosity. I get halfway through unstringing the first of two sets of lights on it and quit. And there is lies in the middle of my living room. Surrounded by Santa hats, candles, stockings, more lights and other miscellaneous Christmas decorations all strewn about the room. I haven't opened our front curtains since Sunday because I'm so ashamed. I don't want anyone to see what a disaster zone I've created.

And I just haven't had TIME to fix it and get everything in order. I should really do that tonight.

Or, I could take some pictures of it to finish off my roll of film and then head to Wal-Mart. Hmm...sounds so much more fun. Any bets on what will and will not get done this evening?!

This is your punishment for violating the one holiday at a time rule. Christmas lights before mid-November. It's not even Thanksgiving yet! If you have all this time, I could really use some help cleaning my apartment!

Perhaps you missed that we're going to be visiting my family in LaCrosse over Thanksgiving weekend, but when we return on Sunday will be hosting a Christmas party that evening. Decorations must be complete before departing!

Oh, and I don't even have time to clean my own house...thank God for Alf's connections and the Columbian Cleaners!
