August In Review

So, there's a reason I've been quiet in blogland, people. I've been busy.

Fortunately, that translates into something for me monetarily since I had my best month EVER in sales. I topped my previous record by 15%.

And, a while back, I mentioned that Maria had conned, er, convinced me that I could do a triathlon in a year. Since then, I've been trying to 'get fit' and lose some weight so that, when I go to see my doctor on September 15th, I can show my doctor that I'm serious about wanting to start training for the triathlon and have a serious discussion with him about it.

Well, ladies and gents, I have officially lost 15 pounds since my last visit to the doctor (June 30th)!

I'm getting up every morning and walking Max for an hour. In August, I started running a bit too. I'm feeling great. Step #1 is getting myself to a point where I can run (no walking) a 5K. With my doctor's blessing, I'll start working on the swimming and biking in October. I AM PUMPED!

P.S. Did I mention that Badger football starts in TWO DAYS?! This very well may throw a wrench into my plans...I am not less excited for the season to start, though.

If you are going to get serious about tri's, definetely pick up the Triathlete's Training Bible by Joe Friel. Provides workout plans for both the summer and winter among many other aspects of the sport.

Thanks for the tip. I've heard of quite a few books and/or websites I need to check out once I get the green light to start training.

Amazon's going to get a nice order from my wishlist soon (keep your fingers crossed)!
