Baby on the Brain

Just a quick update...

I'm feeling really really great OVERALL. Went to see the doctor yesterday and everything is measuring right on track: +17 lbs, BP 100/60, Baby's HB 142. All good and healthy. I took a test to see if I have gestational diabetes. PRAYING that the results on Monday come back negative. Next appointment is scheudled for October 10th. That's when we'll have another sonogram (and updated pictures of the baby)!

This last weekend I had a little bit of a mental slip. While it was absolutely incredible to see Vikas and Komal and feel NORMAL again, preparing to "go out" on Saturday night was a real hit to my ego. Let's start with the fact that I don't go out much to begin with and add on top of that the fact that my maternity wardrobe isn't quite so 'trendy', much more 'functional'. I had a bit of a meltdown in the bathroom while we were getting ready to go. Didn't feel pretty, didn't like anything I owned. In fact, at one point I just didn't want to GO. I did, though, and we had a lot of fun. Sometimes all we need is a good kick in the butt.

On an unrelated note, Craig is on his way to Houston as I type. Hopefully, we'll be able to sell the 5th wheel quickly to someone who needs temporary accomodations post-Ike. It would certainly be nicer than a FEMA trailer.

Sounds like baby's doing great!

Don't worry about the meltdown; with our hormones going crazy, we all have moments like this! My wardrobe is now getting even more limited, as I've outgrown a number of my maternity pants... this didn't happen last time!
